- A gastric balloon is an option for those with obesity who wants to reduce chances of developing other serious diseases such as diabetes, ischemic heart disease, paralysis and colon cancer.
- The insertion of gastric balloon is done by endoscopy and a balloon filled with 400-500 cc of liquid called methylene blue.
- On the first week after the insertion, you may experience nausea, vomiting and belching.
- The balloon can be left in the stomach for 1 year. But, it can be removed before 1 year if you are already satisfied with your weight loss.
