Broken Collarbone Surgery: Minimally Invasive Treatment with ORIF

Patient Stories

When Mr. Aldrin experienced sudden shoulder pain and suffered a collarbone fracture in Laos, he decided to travel to Bangkok for treatment at Vejthani international Hospital, trusting the hospital’s reputation for orthopedic and bone care. After his X-ray, Dr. Ratthapoom Watcharopas, an orthopedic surgeon at Vejthani International Hospital, found that Mr. Aldrin had a comminuted, displaced left clavicle (collarbone) fracture, broken into two pieces. Because of the displacement, collarbone fracture surgery was recommended: open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF), using a minimally invasive, mini-open technique to reconnect the bone with a plate and screws through a smaller incision. Following a successful surgery, Mr. Aldrin regained good shoulder function and was able to return to everyday life. Satisfied with the care he received, he shared how Dr. Ratthapoom and the entire medical team showed professionalism, clear communication, and support throughout every step of his treatment.
