Hemangioma Spine Treatment After Severe Spinal Cord Compression

Patient Stories

Mrs. Theingi Phyo was left unable to stand, walk, or even feel her legs because of severe spinal cord compression caused by a T4 spinal hemangioma. Despite undergoing previous spine surgery, her symptoms persisted, prompting her to seek a second opinion and explore better treatment options. After undergoing an MRI, Dr. Kitidate Boonchai, Spine Surgeon at Vejthani Internation Hospital, diagnosed her with a spinal hemangioma and spinal cord injury. To relieve the pressure on her spinal cord and prevent further damage, he performed revision spine surgery and spinal cord decompression. Following surgery, Mrs. Theingi Phyo began regaining sensation in her legs, which is an encouraging sign of neurological recovery and hope for improved mobility.
