- Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) : Decompression laminectomy, discectomy and spine fusion

- Discectomy or Microdiscectomy: Removal of a herniated intervertebral disc, which means the pressure is lifted from the compressed nerve. Microdiscectomy is a MISS procedure.
- Full Endoscopic Surgery: Discectomy and Decompression
- Laminotomy: Removal of a portion of the vertebral arch (lamina) that covers the spinal cord. A laminotomy removes a smaller portion of a bone than a laminectomy.
Both laminectomy and laminotomy are decompression procedures. The decompression process in general strives to remove the tissue compressing a spinal nerve. - Foraminotomy: Removal of bone or tissue at/in the passageway (called the neuroforamen) where nerve roots branch off the spinal cord and exit the spinal column.

- Lateral Interbody Fusion, which is a minimally invasive approach done from a side of the body.
