Most of liver cancer patients usually have no abnormal signs or symptoms, but there are still suspected signs, such as abdominal pain, feeling of fullness, fatigue, loss of appetite, weight loss, and yellow eyes along with ascites in severe cases. Basically, Ultrasound, CT scan or MRI will be used to diagnose along with blood test (Liver function test) and/or biopsy.
Diagnostic Procedure for Liver Cancer:
- History taking
- Blood test to check the liver function and the risk of liver cancer, as well as the risk of hepatitis B and C.
- Undergo a CT scan or MRI.
Ways to Prevent Liver Cancer and Cholangiocarcinoma:
- Avoid consuming raw meat of freshwater fish.
- Avoid drinking alcoholic drinks.
- Have a safe sex in order to prevent hepatitis B and C virus transmission which can be a cause of Hepatoma (Hepatocellular Carcinoma).
