  • Surgical treatment: In cases where physical rehabilitation doesn’t work, the doctor might consider giving surgical treatment. Besides open surgery, there is another surgical technique called minimally invasive surgery. The foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon will perform the surgery through the endoscopy, hence, the patient will have only 8 – 10 mm. small sized incisions. The advantages of minimally invasive surgery are less pain and fast recovery.

The foot and ankle problems that can be treated with minimally invasive surgery are Ankle cartilage injuries, Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon rupture, etc. However, foot and ankle problems can be prevented by wearing shoes that properly fits your feet, and being more cautious while doing exercise.
