Heart Disease Treatment Bangkok Thailand
: Service
The Vejthani Heart Center has cardiologists
who are specialize in heart disease treatments
of Coronary artery disease, Valvular heart disease,
angina pectoris or chest pain and acute myocardial
infarction or heart attack. Our physicians also
treat patients requiring interventional non-invasive
cardiac imaging. To evaluate the heart and vascular
systems using non-invasive techniques, we have
The Non-invasive Cardiovascular Imaging Laboratory
.The Imaging Laboratory including:
A. Echocardiogram: is a
test in which ultrasound is used to examine
the heart. The echocardiogram offers more
sophisticated and advanced imaging. This is
known as two- dimensional (2-D) Echo and is
capable of displaying a cross-sectional "slice"
of the beating heart, including the chambers,
valves and the major blood vessels that exit
from the left and right ventricle . The physicians
then make recordings from different parts
of the chest to obtain several views of the
heart.
B. Exercise Stress Test:,
sometimes called a treadmill test or exercise
test, helps a physician find out how well
your heart handles work. As your body works
harder, it requires more oxygen, and your
heart pumps more blood. The test can show
if the blood supply is reduced in the arteries
that supply oxygen to the heart. It also helps
physicians to define what kind and level of
exercise is appropriate for a patient. A physician
may recommend an exercise stress test for
various reasons:
• To diagnose a possible heart-related cause
of symptoms such as chest pain, shortness
of breath or lightheadedness, arrhythmia,
syncope
• To determine a safe level of exercise
• To check the effectiveness of procedures
done to improve coronary artery circulation
in patients with coronary artery disease
• To predict risk of dangerous heart-related
conditions such as a heart attack.
C. Holter Monitoring: collects
data on cardiac function during a "normal
day"
D. Holter EKG
The Holter EKG is electrocardiogram taken
over a 24-hour period while the patient does
normal day activities. The Holter EKG differs
from a normal EKG because it shows how the
heart reacts to the stressful situations of
normal daily life over an extended period
of time, whereas a normal EKG records the
heart's activity over a very brief period.
The Holter EKG is particularly useful for
assessing ambulatory patients who report fainting
episodes, palpitations, dizziness, intermittent
chest pain, or other symptoms suspected of
having a cardiac origin that may occur during
emotional stress or routine physical activities.
